This 8"x8" painting was created on a wood panel 1.5" deep. The raw wood was lightly stained to accentuate the natural wood grain. The Lotus was then painted with acrylic. I then collaged over the painting with handpainted found papers, leaving some areas of the underpainting peeking through.  Gold and silver leaf flakes embellish the center of the bloom. The surface is coated with a gloss top coat.  The edges of this panel are painted and ready for display - no need for framing.
