These 8"x8" paintings were created on wood panels 1.5" deep. The raw wood was lightly stained to accentuate the natural wood grain. Each lotus was then painted with acrylic. I then collaged over the painting with handpainted found papers, leaving some areas of the underpainting peeking through. The flowers are accented in shimmering metallic hues.  The edges of each wood panel are painted in a shimmering blue-gold, and the surface is coated with a gloss top coat. These unique and gorgeous pieces are ready for display - no need for framing.
