I am in love with these new poppies!!!! The background wood was stained in shimmering metallic gold and pink paint to draw out the natural wood grain.  After sketching out the poppy in black, i lightly stamped the background with a sheet music print.  After I created a simple underpainting of the poppies, I collaged each flower with hand painted found papers and tissue, which I tore individually to line the contours of the flowers.  Each wood panel measures 8x8, 1.5 " deep, which are suitable for framing if desired, though the edges are finished in metallic.  The surface is coated with a gloss top coat, adding to a polished, finished look.   Enjoy!
