This vibrant orchid was initially painted with acrylic on a luxuriously deep 3" museum canvas. I then collaged over the painting with handpainted found papers, including shoe box tissues, sewing patterns, maps and more. Leaving some areas of the underpainting peeking through helped to create dimension in this piece. The center of the orchid is embellished with german glass and metallic papers. The surface is coated with a gloss top coat. The edges of this panel are painted and ready for display - no need for framing.
