This delicate, dreamlike painting features a collection of random irises I photographed from various gardens over the spring. I've always had a love for the lush and varied textures and colors of irises. For this piece, I chose to paint them in a delicate palette of muted blues with the slightest hint of metallic in the center of the blooms. The result is a truly ethereal painting that is at once dynamic and delicate.
Field of Whispers, which measures 12h"x24w", is painted on a 1.5" gallery wrapped wrap canvas. The edges of this panel are painted and it can be hung as is or framed.
