This serene seascape features a vibrant sky at sunset over a lake. Inspired by the abundant lakes and waterscapes of Michigan, I tried to capture the mesmerizing colors of the last bits of sun as they fall past the horizon, and the shimmering glitter it casts along the water. The original is created with layered paper and acrylic paint. The sky is highlighted with interference metallics that evoke the mesmerizing colors of the sky at sunset. The gold leaf accents in the water and embedded papers and maps really add dimension to this stunning 2'x4' canvas.
